Puzzle boxes have been around for a long time. Mostly made from the sustainable material wood. Traditional Japanese puzzle boxes, for example, work using the trial-and-error method. This means you have to try different things on the box to reach the next step.

This relies on chance, so the solver either has to be lucky, randomly pressing or pulling the correct things, or they must already know the mechanisms with which these boxes function.

Different with the Clueboxes from iDventure. These are naturally inspired by puzzle boxes and were influenced by the traditional Japanese models, yet the Cluebox Puzzle can be solved by logic alone, no luck or prior knowledge is needed. There is a starting point which, after being solved, provides a clue to the next puzzle. This way, you work through puzzle after puzzle in the entire box until it is solved and a secret compartment is found.
